Kidneys – the Main Blood Filter

Kidneys are two reddish, bean-shaped organs located on either side of your spine in the middle of your back. Their main job is to filter your blood. They are about the size of your fist and keep you healthy by maintaining the correct balance of water and other substances in your body. They process about 40 gallons of fluid every day, collecting toxins, nutrients and water, sending harmful waste and excess water and nutrients to the bladder to be flushed out of the body.
